Demonic Strengths (Rin and Lanna Only)

The suns ray broke through the window shining upon a girls cheek. Due to the heat and warmth being emitted it woke her up as she sat up from her bed and rubbed her eyes groggily. Her brown hair swayed over her eyes when she let her head hang down in front of her and rubbed her neck. Twisting it around her neck popped a few times and she yawned.
"Goddammit." She groaned seeing the time on the alarm clock next to her. She must have overslept. Quickly getting dressed into her clothes she grabbed her backpack and left the house without even having time to grab a bite to eat. Lanna was known as a lazy, depressing, angry, creative kind of person. She had the brains and capability to get far in life but she just never excelled herself so everyone called her an arrogant immature kid. She was short and looked like she was about 15 years old but in reality she was about 17. For clothes on she had a Slipknot T-Shirt with gray skinny jeans on and lots of bracelets on her arm. Unknown to her she had the potential to become a soul reaper but she had no idea about that yet. For now she lived a human life and dealt with all the shit it came with putting up with the assholes in this place. It was a Tuesday morning so she had three more days left until she was free for the weekend. It was only the second day of the week and she already wanted to slam her head against a wall from how annoying the people around her were. Lanna slid her hands in her pockets and headed to school but something felt off on her way there, something felt powerful in the distance, even demonic. Then she spotted the kid who was in a uniform, he must have been going to the other Academy nearby since the outfit was from that school. But something about him seemed off to Lanna, like she could relate to him in some way.
"Who's the guy you're checking out?"
"Ah!" Lanna quickly turned around to see one of her friends leaning on her shoulder and winking at her. She growled angrily that he'd even think Lanna was checking him out. She just tsk'ed at him and turned her head. "Dumbass. As if..." She crossed her arms but also hoped the kid from across the street didn't see her staring. But still it didn't change the fact she could care less about his appearance, she was just curious about why she felt this strange feeling whenever looking towards him. Either way she shrugged it off.

She was about to go into her classroom but then her friend nudged her after he noticed the kid dropped his things from his bag. "Looks like he needs your help Lanna~" "Shut up!" she said and backhanded him. He laughed but then walked into class and left her alone. Lanai sighed but knew she might as well be nice and help the guy out. Walking over to him she picked up some of his papers and a binder then handed it to him. She wasn't going to pry on his life but she smother when she saw a book about Akuma's. The kid was studying demons apparently, maybe it was for a class? Either way, she wasn't guna meddle into his life since that'd be rude.
"Here's your things. Maybe you should try getting a new backpack or something since this one isnt very stable to hold your things."

(Btw, if you want to know the text color so you don't have to use pink, its slateblue. xD And sorry for my late reply too. Dx)

"No worries," She handed him the last textbook. "I'm Lanna, its nice to meet you." Normally a person would shake hands but Lanna wasn't the type of person to shake hands unless the other person did first. "If I had an extra bag I'd give it to you, and I kinda need my bag, so sorry you have to carry your things. I dunno about your school but they might be nice and lend you an extra bag from the lost and found, who knows." She suggested.

She saw him stuttering slightly but brushed it off like it was nothing. He seemed pretty nice, just slightly shy maybe. She was going to suggest something else but then the ground randomly shook. She heard a loud screeching noise and quickly covered her ears. She saw a hollow wandering around close by, but there was no normal Shinigami attacking it. She use to see them a lot but some person dressed in a black kimono with a sword would normally take care of it, but not today. Now she didn't know what to do, she was the only one who noticed and saw them as far as she knew, so Rin would think she's starring at the air probably. Shit, what was she suppose to do now? It was coming towards the school and nothing was stopping it.

Lanna panted heavily as she ran with Rin to the gates of the school, hiding behind a wall. Sweat dripped down her forehead. She knew this was bad, there was a hollow nearby and no one patrolling the area to take care of it. Where the hell were the guys in black to take it out?! Lanna's nerves were nearly shot, she was use to them being dealt with and not having to worry that her life might be on the line and one of the hollows might eat them. It was bad, even Rin could sense them, he just couldn't see them. To him it must have been some type of earthquake or something.
"I want you to stay here." She handed him her book bag to hold and then took off her black sweatshirt handing it over. "Hold these, I'll be back." Lanna knew she had to take matters into her own hands. Rin couldn't see them, so he couldn't do very much at all. But Lanna could, and she knew where it was since her vision allowed her to somehow see dead people, and hollows.

Lanna yelled up at the hollow to get it's attention, she even threw a couple rocks at it. Her biggest bet was to lead it away from the school if possible. If she could draw it away, then everyone might be safe. Unless it kept pursuing her then she'd probably get eaten. Once it noticed her and looked down, it made a thunderous, loud roar towards the sky then came towards her. That's when she started to run.

Rin started yelling over to her, but over the loud screeching sound of the hollow chasing her, it was almost impossible for her to hear him. Instead she saw him chasing after her since on his end it probably looked like she was running away from him. "Rin, get back!" She yelled at him but the hollow had already caught sight of him in the tree, now stuck on the branch after cutting the fabric of his pant leg. Obviously he couldn't see the monster chasing him since he wasn't making that big of an effort to get away but instead trying to see what was wrong.

The hollow roared again, only this time picking Rin up, ripping him out from the tree and tearing the rest of his pant leg so now it looked like one leg he had shorts on. There was no way Lanna could do hardly anything now, it was huge compared to her and even after she yelled to get its attention, it was planning on eating Rin.
"Let him go!" She was angry it had attempted to go after someone else instead of her being the prey, she was even more mad that no shinigami's were around to take care of it. Because of the anger, that's what made her zanpakuto activate. Her zanpakuto was the hatred that was stored inside of Lanna, placed in a blade. A long black sheathed sword began to formulate in her hand from black particles forming in the air. Drawing the blade from its sheath, Kanji was written on it.
"Hitogoroshi!" The name sounded in her head at the same time she said it out loud, like the second voice in the back of her head was synchronized with hers. She didn't know where the blade came from and didn't care, just as long as it helped her save Rin. She climbed halfway up the tree and jumped through midair, slashing the hollow across the torso. Instantly it stepped back in pain and dropped Rin.
When they both landed, she ran over to him and held out a hand to him. "Are you okay?" She knew it wasn't dead, but Rin had proof it was there from the fresh blood spatters on the ground coming from an invisible object.

Lanna wasn't sure how to explain this since she wasn't 100% sure about them anyways. It wasn't for awhile until she became a soul reaper, meaning that right now she was still unaware of her true inner powers. She had no idea how she was even able to summon her sword but regardless, she somehow did. He had the right to know what was going on but she also couldn't fully explain it to him.
"That was a hollow..." She pointed to it, even though he couldn't see it. "I found out that only some souls can see them...I'm one of those rare people that can...They're human souls that never cross over...They're hearts are filled with regret, hatred or revenge...They turn into monsters..." She shook her head and pulled on his arm. "I didn't kill it. But we need to get out of here before it gets up. Normally these guys in kimono's and hakama's come in and take care of it but...no one showed up...I figured I'd have to try luring it away but then you followed me..." Lanna looked down at her sword, still curious where it came from.

A hollow. The boy inhaled, although Karakura was defiantly a nice town, he couldn't help but notice the many different... "paranormal" things that were happening. It wasn't just the many rumours he had heard about Karakura from walking about, but witnessing things like this himself scared him somewhat. Why Karakura? Was there something about this place that Rin hadn't quite been able to understand or was he just naive? Of course, the boy wasn't able to see the hollow like she could but he still had that horrible feeling that Lanna and him weren't the only people in the area at the time. He wanted to think that Lanna was lying but he knew full well she wasn't. "I found out that only some souls can see them...I'm one of those rare people that can...They're human souls that never cross over...They're hearts are filled with regret, hatred or revenge...They turn into monsters..." The boy frowned greatly at the mention of this, what a horrible thing to happen to someone...

"I didn't kill it. But we need to get out of here before it gets up. Normally these guys in kimono's and hakama's come in and take care of it but...no one showed up...I figured I'd have to try luring it away but then you followed me..."

Rin's gaze followed towards Lanna's sword, tilting his head to the side to study it more, he soon lifted up a finger to point at it. "...Where did you get that from? Is it real...?" He asked, it was rare that Rin at least would come across swords and if he did then half of the time they were up on display...But this was the first time he had witnessed a sight of one in public and being used.

"I have no idea..." She looked at the sword and moved it around to observe it more. She even ran her hand across the blade and lightly cut herself from it's edge. "I'm guessing it has to be." Lanna sucked the blood from her cut finger then wiped it on her pant leg. The hollow was still there, roaring in pain and anger from the slash and looked down to find the thing that slashed it. Once it spotted Lanna with the sword it found the culprit that harmed it. She wasn't sure what to do. Fight or wait for those soul reapers to get here and take care of it? All she knew is she had to think fast before it killed them both. "Do you have a plan?"
