Dark Woods Circus RP (Lanna and Emily Only)

I was arriving New York and I was looking for a job in acting. I had heard that there was going to be a play performing in Broadway known as the Phantom of the Opera. I was so excited to play the part as Christine so I decided to sign up for it. Unfortunately the role was taken by someone who should've played as Carlotta, and because I was too late to sign up as a performer, I was given a different job which happened to be costume and makeup. I honestly thought the cast was terrible. The Christine they chose was more beautiful than talented, the Raoul was too old and the phantom sang like a chorus girl. Either way I couldn't complain. At least I got a job here at all.

Living in a circus in Japan was a man who wore a mask. While his mask hid his disfigured face, his clothes his other scars and stitches on his body. He was kidnappe at a younger age by the circus people and was forced to perform acts for the show. Because he had been deformed by so much abuse they've given him, he was forced to change his position from being a normal circus performer to being part of the freak show. They even threw acid in his face just to make him look even more terrifying for the show. He was locked up in a cage and forced to spend the rest of his life there. Because he was also a genius, they even used him to write plans for every show they perform, but he would never even get credit for it. That's just the way life was he figured.

(Oh just forewarning. You know how I got the Japan circus idea even though I don't care for circus's? xD Because of this video.)

(Here, I found the explanation on the internet so I don't have to explain it myself. xD And also when they watched the circus shows, they watched through a hole in the wall so they couldn't take any types of pictures of the acts and be able to get the circus in trouble. So it was like a moving circus that was never found sort of.)

"There were variety of entertainment culture during Edo period,
so to satisfy the people they put up a "show hut" similar to the circus these days.
Inside the hut they showcased unusual, rare objects and showed acrobats, and sometimes they showed deformed children (freaks) and act of sexual intercourse before them for fun.
Sometimes kidnapped children were brought to be dissected and experimented, made deformed, and were decorated around the hut."

"Even though they did not cut and attach different parts of the body of the children,
they DID cut the children into pieces. They'd cut the children's limbs and put up a "freak circus"."

According to the writing, people of Edo period were very poor due to WWI and famine. They had to do whatever it takes to make money, so they took children and "reconstructed" them cruelly. Pouring acid on their face, taking the leg muscle away, or putting two heads on one body...
But Japanese people just view this as one of the cultures.

Parts of the video indicates these events too. A "rotten fruit (apple)" means tainted purity, meaning they showcased sexual intercourse (she was raped, poor Miku). In front of her is a kid who got hung and his/her face obscured with flowers, meaning he/she died of acid. "The two-headed 'spectacle' (this word was censored on purpose, because who wants to make a show of themselves?)" indicates they did have some animal/human with two heads.

A man hidden in the shadows lived in the theater on Broadway. Little to their dismay, every year they put on the play, he watched from the shadows but each year got so boring because they used terrible actors. He felt his life was just like the play, he was a monster cursed to this wretched place and eternal damnation, never to know love or feel true happiness. He was spiteful and hated most everyone except one thing, which was the theater. He liked to see performances, it made him feel more sane considering he barely had any anymore. Everyone was clearing away now that practice was done but he still sat in his booth looking down at everyone. He adjusted his mask that he had on his face but when he saw a certain girl it felt like his eyes deceived him. He got up and looked over the edge seeing her, she was the only one on the stage and she was cleaning up the costumes that were laid out on the floor. He wondered if he should go confront her or stay put so instead he decided to just wait and see what she does first.

I found fliers all over the town I lived in. I decided I would go see the circus tonight that seemed so popular. It was nighttime by now when I left and I found the location but it was like a jigsaw to figure out where it was hidden. It was as if the Circus was secret or something. Either way, I got there and payed for my ticket to get in. We all shuffled in a line separately and there were multiple holes along the walls but also a divider between each hole so it was like each person got their privacy to watch. I didn't understand why we didn't have any types of bleachers to sit on like a normal circus. The lights dimmed and I looked around, the only light was from the hole now in front of me. I peeked into it but was horrified from what I saw. It was a boy being fed...body parts? I shivered watching and wasn't able to believe what I saw. I tried to think it was something else but it was obviously a body part by the shape of it. The boy was deformed and looked like he had acid spilled on him. It even looked like he was crying in pain. I felt horribly sorry for him and wanted to help but just as I was about to get up, I was attacked by a dark figure with a rag pressed to my mouth with chloroform on it, knocking me unconscious.

As soon as practice was over, I saw how the actors just tossed their wigs and costume aside...as if they expected me to pick up after them. I'm a costume/makeup crew member, not a damn house maid! I picked it up anyways but when I was done, I sat on the stage to write my letter of resignation. I came here to be an actress, but I couldn't get the part so I was left with the only option of being a costume/makeup crew member. That would be ok if I wasn't being treated as a slave. I was fed up with this even though it was only my first day. I put my letter of resignation on the directors desk and left to go find another job that will hopefully take me more seriously. I then saw a flier about people recruiting for a theater out of town. It was a long shot, but I figured it was worth a chance. So I headed towards the adress to find an old abandoned theater. Is this really the place?

After all of the outsiders had left, the man heard a rumor going around. There was a new recruit, but the correct term would be a new prisoner of this dark circus. He didn't seem to be fazed by it at all because he had heard these sort of rumors ever since he was a child, when he was kidnapped and kept prisoner here. Now this place was his home. He would have nothing to go back to with his disfigurement. Not even the ones who were once close to him would recognize him now. He got to put his mask on now that the outsiders were gone. The last time he kept it on during showtime costed him his arm, which he had to sew back on. He heard the new recruit was a girl. Such pity for her since females are the ones who usually suffer the most in this hell hole. Later on when it's feeding time, he may get to have a glimpse of her, but he would try to avoid contact with everyone because in this circus, he's the most popular freak.

Yylfordt saw the girl sign her resignation. She was quiting her job working here but didn't she work here for only a week? He wondered if she was the type who just gave up easily or if they were treating her badly. She looked like she was fed up with her job and this interested him to stalk some prey. It was so boring here after all anyways, there was no hope for the theater. He already had on him what he needed and that was money. He could live without everything else he had here which was barely anything anyways. When she left to go look for more work he quietly followed behind and hid in the shadows. He had on a hat also to hide his face so people wouldn't notice his mask and wouldn't bother looking at him. He wondered how far she was planning to go until he finally caught up with her. She looked poor and maybe he could help her out. "Where are you heading?" He wasn't very nice about asking but he didn't care anyways. He lived alone by himself so it wasn't like he had anyone to impress or show any manors to.

When I woke up my hands were chained behind me and I was sitting in a chair with a single light bulb swaying above my head. Two men were talking in front of me but I couldn't make out what they were saying and my vision was still blurry. One of them grabbed me by the arm and practically dragged me since I could barely walk. I had blood running down my face from when I struggled earlier and hit my head on the wall. It was dried blood now though luckily, but it was still a reason why I was dizzy from so much blood loss. He brought me to a table and there was a plate in front of me. I was terrified after remembering what I saw through that hole thinking it was a human body part but instead it was just a plate with an apple on it and a some scraps of already eaten meat. I starred at it wondering if they expected this to be my food but at least the apple was never touched. My hands were unchained and the man left. It took me a bit to notice people on the other side of the table but deformed looking, like something you'd see in a nightmare. I was trembling feeling like I was in a bad dream just waiting to wake up.

On my way to a new job, I got the feeling that I was being followed. That is until I was certain that I was being followed when a man with a hat walked over to me and asked where I was going. "Pardon me but that's none of your concerns, stranger." I said to him being polite and rude at once as I walked on ahead to avoid him. It wasn't that I hated the guy. He was a complete stranger and I'm out alone in the streets so I have to be on my guard. Finally I make it to the abandoned theater, but before I knew it, I was knocked upside the head and everything went black. I later woke up in a truck with some other people who seemed disorientated. Most of them were female. What the hell is going on here? I then remembered the man I met earlier. Could he have anything to do with this? I looked outside a window in the back of the truck and saw we were somewhere in Japan. This can't be good at all...

While all of the freaks were gathered to feed on scraps, the man sat in the dark wearing his mask. He saw the new recruit, who everyone here would also call fresh meat. She was practically fresh meat since the worst she's gotten was a bloody head from possible trauma to it. This must have been one who struggled. She seemed scared and disoriented, quite a normal feeling since she's new here and doesn't know the rules very well. He wondered what they would do to her. They might possibly use her as a prop for a dangerous performance, or worse. They might disfigure that pretty face of hers. Who knows? Whatever happens, she shouldn've known better than to come here alone. Anyone who comes alone never goes, unless they die of course. He kept to himself most of the time but for some reason he wanted to learn more about her. He couldn't understand why.

Yylfordt didn't really care that she was rude to him. She was a loner anyways who fended for herself so he understood why she acted that way but again, he was only trying to help. He was going to lend her some money to get her where she wanted to go but she turned him down before he could even offer. So instead he kept an eye on her since he didn't have any intention of going back to the theater after this. That was when he saw knocked out by a stranger and hauled into a truck. He didn't know what was going on or if this was a trick to lure him out of the shadows and use her as bait but he still didn't appreciate putting her in harm for it. Before the truck left he snuck around the side and climbed the later, riding on top of the truck until it reached its destination. When it arrived he watched the girls be hauled out of the truck one by one. It was easy enough to tell what this was, it was human trafficking by the looks of it. For now he waited to see what would happen but now that he was in this deep it wasn't like he was abandoning the girl he was stalking.

I didn't want to eat the food. I wanted out of here and I knew I couldn't, not yet at least. The door was locked and I already knew that since no one else tried to get out of here. They must keep everyone in here like animals until they've eaten. I noticed all of them were quite but one in particular hid in a corner by himself with his arms folded and a mask on. I saw the deformities of everyone else like their limbs off or burned eyes, but him I couldn't figure out. Something about him was mysterious and I was curious. And because it felt like a dream like this wasn't real I didn't think it would be that bad if I got close to him since I'd wake up sooner or later. So I got off from my chair and crept close to him, my fingers moving out towards his mask to take it off. "Can I...?" I asked quietly.

One by one they hauled us out of the truck and sat us on the side of the wall. We were chained to each other so that we couldn't escape. Then other people arrived. We were blindfolded before they came. I could only hear the clicked of the cuffs as each victim was bought by the customers. I knew that sooner or later I would be bought as well. And I heard that anyone who hasn't been bought by the end of the first day end up becoming whores if they're pretty enough or end up dead. I was terrified by that thought but I didn't want any part of this. I just wanted to get out of this somehow. This was a nightmare that I could never escape by simply waking up. I then heard a girl beg for freedom but then heard a loud smack. Apparently we're not aloud to speak either.

Only if you plain to burn your eyes out like she did. The man simply muttered pointing at the girl with burned eye sockets. He could tell right away this was the curious type. It's always the curious ones that end up here. This was no surprise to him at all. The last fresh meat who saw his face was the one with no eyes. She begged the master to burn them. Like he cared though. The man knew then on that everyone would be disguistead by his face. Nothing he could do about it, he would have to live with this burden for the rest of his life so he might as well learn to accept that. This girl must also learn to accept her fate here since there really is no escape. This was her home now, as it is his. He honestly didn't want to have the mask off. The only people who have seen it are the outsiders who were brave enough then later puked their guts out, the girl with no eyes, and the master who was responsible for this face.

Yylfordt watched, seeing them being bought one by one. He should have just left her there but something told him not to, like there was apart of her that he was curious to know more about. So he got down from the truck blending in with the crowd and anonymously bought Emily since he did have money on him after all. The others he wouldn't try to save because first, he didn't have enough money, and second, there was no way he could cause a big scene and make it out alive with this many people. When she was brought to him he grabbed her arm and led her away from everyone and into an abandoned warehouse in the forest nearby that use to be used for shipping supplies. "You're lucky I bought you...You would have been fed to the coyotes that scrap for fresh meat." he didn't put it very nicely as if saying those pigs only got the bottom of the food chain and took what they could get. He then let go of her since he figured she'd be scared of him for following her. "Are you that stupid to wander around by yourself? You blindly walked into that."

I pulled my hand away when he said that knowing he probably didn't like people looking at his face. I'd seen many scary things before but deformities didn't scare me, what scared me is when people are in pain and I feel empathy for them. He was in pain and lonely, he wanted out and so did I and I could understand that part of him. Everyone else didn't seem to care about me, they seemed to look like they felt sorry for me since I was the new member to the circus. They figured I'd probably soon enough be forced to do something horrifying or be somehow mutilated by the master. "Pain is just weakness leaving the body." I told him and tried to force a smile, even if I knew my life was going to horrible from here on. I figured even if I was going to be in pain during this Dark Woods Circus, I could try helping others besides myself. Besides, it was a quote I lived by for a long time too.

Eventually I was bought by someone and knew my life was over. Hell it was over as soon as I walked to that abandoned theater. Once I was taken away and the blindfold was removed, I now realized it was the same man who was following that had bought me. This was not good at all, but then after what he said I realized that he actually did it to save me. Maybe I shouldn't have been rude to him after all. Still, he was stalking me all of this time and that was not cool at all. "Why should I even trust you? For all I know you could just be some creepy stalker who got lucky." By this I meant that he might have planned this out the whole time but got lucky when I happened to be for sale by those human traffickers. The fact he bought me and happened to be my stalker alone was just creepy.

This was something the man had never heard from anyone before. The way this girl said it, it seemed like she wasn't afraid of him at least. He still didn't want to show her his face. He'd lose the closest thing he may come to a friend that way, which was a reason he would not admit to even himself. "Mayuri.." He stated his name to her. He was curious to know what her name was but didn't bother to ask. Logically if you give someone your name they'd do the sensable thing and give you their name back. He then noticed that the others were looking at them oddly. No one would dare go near Mayuri. They felt they knew better, and they did. One glare and growl from him with a hand on his mask threatening to show his face and already they were terrified and covered their eyes.

Yylfordt was mad that she was making accusations that he was just like the rest of them. Maybe she wasn't the girl he thought she might be after all and maybe he was being deceived. He thought she was different from the others girls, she had something inside of her he liked and that was her attitude to not put up with anyone's shit. Like when she quit her job for instance. "Fine. Stay out here alone. Starve. You'll just wind up back there...Just for money to eat." He was going to use the guilt trip on her and began to walk away making her feel bad for turning down his generosity to help her.

I was glad he was at least talking to me and not being so harsh. I knew how it was...To have a cold outer shell and hide from everyone your true emotions. We were similar in a way. "Lanna." I told him my name. The others were surprised he wasn't even making me get away from him. They knew he hardly spoke unless it was a warning threat to back off and here he was, telling me his name even too. They must think I'm very lucky. Suddenly the Master barged through the door seeing everyone done with their scraps, and even though I didn't notice, because one of the others were so hungry and hardly fed, they ate my apple and scraps I didn't touch while I was talking. He saw me talking to Mayuri and knew that it was rare that anyone even come close to their most famous circus act. He had a bottle of acid in his hand ready to throw it on me. "Getting comfortable? Well you shouldn't be." He didn't look very happy with me, I was trying to be happy and cheer Mayuri up but the Master didn't like it. He would prefer them weak and defenseless so they wouldn't rebel against them. "I ought to pour acid on the both of you for punishment." He was already grabbing Mayuri pulling him up to pour acid on him because of him talking to me but I punched him in the face, forcing him to let go of his grip on him. "Get away from him!" I knew I had it coming but I still was going to put up a fight while I could.

I was surprised by what he said. It was as if he didn't care one way or the other what will happen me and only gave me a chance cause he happened to be there. I guess I was wrong to have accused him of being just some creep when all he did was try to help me. Now that I thought about it, if those guys find me alone, then I'm doomed. I ran over to the man catching up to him as I called out, "Wait!" Once I caught up to him I stayed close and said as an excuse for why I'm agreeing to go with him. "If those guys find me alone they'll just catch me all over again. I don't want to go through that again..." I was scared for my own life right now but the only way out of this is to put my trust into this guy even though he's a stalker.

This was a shock to everyone, especially Mayrui. The last time he stood up to the master was what made him the most famous freak show. Now this girl will be next in line just for what she had done. What a foolish girl to do such a foolish thing. She should know better than to struggle. She'd only get hurt just as she did when she struggled to get away. Still, she was a fighter, and this was something that impressed him even more. Maybe she could be their ray of hope, or just another hopeless victim. Who knows? Either way, it may not help her get out of this hell hole withouth a scratch. Just then, the knife throwing guy came in and said, "Master, I need someone to throw knives at. I missed during practice again..."

He figured she'd come around eventually, especially the fact that she didn't want to have to sell herself on the streets for money. He had money still but not a ton left because he had to buy her off the other men who were selling her. They'd have to make due with what they had and maybe he could put her to good use. "So...You wanted to be in acting?" He asked her as they were walking down a dirt path in the forest. Maybe he'd could get her a slot in one of the nearby theaters in town. With a little help with his switchblade for some convincing if necessary but he wouldn't tell her that. He was glad she didn't ask about his mask, and hopefully she wouldn't ever because he wasn't taking it off around anyone. His face was hideous and deformed, just one glance at it could scare anyone out of their socks.

The Master couldn't believe I had punched him in the face and now he had a bloody nose. He then heard the Knive thrower come in then glanced at me knowing he didn't have a slot for me yet anyways. "Here, take her." He grabbed me by the arm and shoved me over to the man. "And make sure you miss." He said that on purpose because of what I had done to him and this would be payback anyways. I knew this wasn't good for me, I was going to have knives thrown at me while on a spinning wheel and the chances were slim that he missed a limb of mine. Plus the guy didn't look like a talented knive thrower anyways. I had no say in it and already the man was trying to haul me off but I wasn't letting him. He had a bottle of acid ready to pour on me if I tried anything though and he was just about to use it since I was struggling from his grasp.

Seems like he had been stalking me for that long. Since he saved me from those creeps I might as well talk to him and be a little nicer to him, but only a little bit. "Yeah. I was going to try out for a part in the play at broadway but the cast was already full so I had no choice but to work with the costume and makeup. I refuse to work there though because the people there are too much of slobs to pick up after themselves. I didn't sign up to be a house made." I knew it would be rude of me, but I couldn't help but ask, "I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Why are you wearing a mask? Are you hiding from someone?"

Mayuri couldn't help it. He took the hit for her and grabbed the bottle of acid even though he was holding the opening causing it to pour onto his hand. It didn't hurt him though since he had a high threshold to pain. It wasn't alot to make a hole in his hand or anything. Only enough to leave another scar on it. He was already far from gone so he could take it. He just couldn't let her suffer like he and the others did. It still didn't stop them from putting her on the wheel and beginning the performance, and just as the master told him to, the knife thrower missed and hit her grazed her side as well as one hitting her in one of her legs and one hitting the side of her face leaving a cut. Mayuri couldn't understand why, but this really pissed him off. He would pay the knife thrower a visit very soon when no one is around.

She was going to ask sooner or later probably but he just hoped it would have been sooner. Oh well, can't be helped now. "I wear it because...The boogeyman visited me one night." He used this as a cover up. If she believed in any types of fairy tales it might just work. He did after all practically sell his soul away anyways for a good reason, but now his face was horrifying beneath and he couldn't stand anyone to see it. "And then...he passed his job down to me. Now I'm the boogeyman." It was a poor excuse but he really didn't want to tell her why. She might try to look under his mask or tear it off even cause she was curious or just ask more questions.

I couldn't believe he took the acid and acted as if it didn't hurt. I've only played with acid once and it barely grazed my skin and boy did it sting. I didn't see how he could endure so much pain and fight back. But his efforts were for nothing anyways since I was still hauled off to use for knife practices. I endured as much pain as I could even though some of them grazed my skin while another one hit me right in the leg. I knew now it was going to hurt to walk but if I was lucky, maybe he'd end up killing me so I wouldn't go throw all this torture. Or I could later on try to escape if it was possible. Finally he let me go and the blood dripped down my leg as I wearily ripped the knife out but kept it hidden in my shirt for later usage. He never noticed that I had it on me now when he left me there.

I narrowed my eyes at what he said. He must think I'm gullable enough or something to believe that kind of nonsence. "Do I look like a 5 year-old to you? I'm insulted that you'd think I would believe something like that." I scoffed at him. I may have been foolish enough to fall into a trap those guys lured me into, but I wasn't so childish to believe in monsters either. I continued walking with him and figured that since he bought me from those guys to save me from them, then I should be on my way. "Well, thank you for saving me fom those guys, but I think I should go back home now. It was nice to meet you um..." Now that I thought about it I didn't even know his name. This was awkward for me.

While they were throwing knives, Mayuri took one and snuck it in his pocket. He would pay them back for what they had done to Lanna, but he was going to wait until the knife thrower was alone. He didn't want any witnesses, not only because he didn't want to get caught but because he didn't want anyone to find out the method for his madness either. That reason happened to be for her. Soon enough they were hauled back into their cells. Unknown to Mayuri, Lanna's cell happened to be next to his. He was actually sort of concerned about her. If no one tended to her wounds, they could get infected. Unfortunately the master doesn't care if anyone they kidnap lives or dies, especially the women since he was a sexist. Still, Mayuri didn't want to admit that he was worried about Lanna. That would make him seem weak.

"Yylfordt." He said plainly. It wasn't very often anyone asked his name and for a moment it was almost like he forgot it. Either way, he didn't like the idea of her leaving since he couldn't really go back where he came from anyways, not since he came this far at least. Besides, there was something about her that he liked and wanted to follow her for. So instead of letting her leave he decided he'd either come with or have her follow him. "I don't have anywhere to go. And I think you need some help considering where you're at." He said and smirked backing her into a corner with the statement.

When I was thrown in a cell later on I noticed there was only a matress, a pillow and a torn blanket and that was about it. They really didn't take that good care of their performers, no wonder so many of them died. It was because of the horrible living conditions. I noticed the cell next to me was Mayuri and I scooted over to him since I couldn't really walk over from the pain. "How is your hand?" I asked concerned since it had acid poured on it from the Master mad that he tried to intervene. I didn't expect a ton from him, I would probably expect him not to even talk after what I put him through. It was my fault that happened to him and I felt bad about it. "I'm sorry." I apologized since it was me getting in the way that made him get hurt.

Damn, he was right. I wasn't in New York anymore so I don't really have a place to stay in either. Plus with the human trafficking being a big business here, I had no choice but to stick with the guy who bought me, which was Yylfordt. "Looks like I don't have anywhere to go either since I'm not exactly in Kansas anymore." I said making a quote from the wizard of oz. I then saw a hotel nearby and figured we could stay there till I could get home somehow. I checked my pockets and realized those bastards went through my pockets and took everything. I then checked between my cleavage since I somethings keep money in there too in case of emergencies. "Damn, those guys really searched me...loooks like I'm officially poor now." I've always been short on money which was why I always had to work. Now I don't have anything.

Surprised to see their cells were next to each others, Mayuri sat closer to her as well to talk with her for a bit. She seemed very worried about what happened to his hand and blamed herself for it. "Compared to what I've been through...it's nothing." He said bluntly. He didn't care if he burned his hand. He was already far from gone with his deformed face and body. He had stitches all over his body but his face was what had suffered the most damage. She shouldn't be sorry for something so small. He saw her leg was still bleeding and the rest of her cuts and how she was scooting because she was too weak to walk now. He secretly hid a first aid kit in a hole he dug up and burried in. He dug it out and pulled it out then set it down next to him. "Put your leg between the bars." He commanded her. It would be easier to fix it up that way.

Maybe they could find a place to stay nearby. Or this here would work. It was abandoned and no one would bother them. Besides, he liked the fact that it wasn't even crowded here at all. Being around too many people made him anxious to kill because they might try to see his face or bump into him. You can never be too cautious. He took out a couple 20's and grabbed her open hand putting it in her palm then curling it up. "Can I trust you to return with blankets and whatever else we need to stay here? Or are you going to get kidnapped again or even robbed?" He was putting his trust in her but he really just didn't want to deal with the big crowd. He didn't give her that much anyways, so if she got robbed it wouldn't be too big a loss for him since he was secretly a wealthy person from living in the theater for so many years.

I moved my leg between the bars once I saw him get out a first aid kit he'd been hiding. "Won't someone notice my leg has been bandaged?" I asked him, unless he was allowed to have that that is. They may not really care about taking care of their performers but they may have just forced them to fend for themselves when injured. It wouldn't phase me if that was the case after all.

I was surprised that he was trusting me with this. How does he know I won't run away with the money or anything? Because of this I felt sort of bad about even the thought of ditching this guy. I didn't say anything and simply took off. It looked like I was running away when in reality I was rushing to the nearest marketplace to get some supplies. I finally found one but it was really crowded. This time I was sure to stay in the crowd so I wouldn't get kidnapped again. I had bought the necessary supplies. I bought some food, drinks, blankets, pillows, etc. Once I was done getting that sort of thing, I decided to buy two inflatable matresses, but because I had bought a lot of other supplies, I only had enough for one. I then walked back to the abandoned place because I was carrying a lot of stuff and didn't want to drop any of it.

"I'm only going to stitch it up. They'll only think it's good for the freak show and that other materials were used as long as I don't use any bandages." He simply stated. He wasn't going to bandage it since he knew they would be suspicious about that. So instead he poured alcohol on the wound before and after he stitched it up. Once he was finished him cleaned the blood off of her leg with a dirty wet rag and again poured alcohol on it so that the rag wouldn't infect the wound either. He then let go of her leg and said, "There." He couldn't understand why he was being so nice to her and neither could the other freaks in their cells. The reason why he was left in a private cell was because every freak he's shared cells with dies. Either from suicide or from him murdering them. Speaking of murder, Mayuri also hid some pins he stole from one of the freaks and made into lock picks. He planned to sneak out of his cage for a bit when everyone is asleep, including the knife thrower. This was exactly what he did when everyone was asleep. He picked the lock, burried the evidence, snuck out, then snuck into the knife throwers room slitting his throat. Once he did that, he used his fingers to right a suicide note on the wall with his own blood. Afterwards he placed the murder weapon in his hands and snuck back into his cell like nothing had ever happened. He even cleaned the blood off of him and didn't wear his mask during the murder so that it wouldn't be stained as well.

When she got back Yylfordt helped her with the bags. It was getting time for bed here soon and he expected with all the things she bought she wouldn't have any money left over. When he pulled out the inflatable matress he noticed there was only one in the bag. She must have not had enough to buy a second one. So instead he grabbed a blanket and went into the corner and laid against the wall and closed his eyes to sleep. "Goodnight."


I thanked him for helping me that got into bed since I knew if one of the men walked by and saw him helping me he'd probably get in trouble and so would I. And then they'd end up taking away his first-aid kit so then neither of us can get healed. "Night." I told him before I crawled into my bed and tried to warm myself up since it was cold and there wasn't much warmth here. It was like we were in tents with no heaters in the entire thing.

I felt really bad that I couldn't afford another bed for him but he didn't need to sleep in the corner either. It was his money anyways. While he slept. I became curious about his mask. I wondered how he could sleep with that thing on. It must not be comfortable, nor would it be to sleep in the corner like that. So in case he woke up and catches me, at least I would have an excuse. I snuck over to him while he was sleeping and carefully reached for his mask.

Mayuri didn't say goodnight back. He just got in the bed and covered himself with the sheets to dose off to sleep. Of course the living conditions would be bad here. They were circus property and nothing more than that anyways. Still, he couldn't help but grin as he slept. He got to kill someone tonight and good thing for him the other freaks who may have witnessed it knew to keep quiet. They were terrified of him and knew he wouldn't mind killing them as well, even though they were freaks as well as he was.

When she reached for his mask he grabbed her hand before she was able to lift it then shoved her arm away from him. He was mad and you could see it in his frown since the mask didn't cover his lips. "What do you think you're doing?" He thought he might like her but if she was going to try to rip off his mask while he was most vulnerable then maybe not. Yylfordt couldn't blame her though, she was just a curious girl who wanted to see his real face. "No one is allowed to see it, do you understand?" since he was mad he left here there and went for a walk to cool himself down. It was like he had done all of this much for her already but the one thing he asks her not to do, she does.

When everyone was asleep, I decided I would try and escape at dawn. Little did the idiots know, I was so skinny that I could slip through the bar cells. That was the plus side for me but problem was that I didn't know my way out. The man that had the keys was sleeping on a chair just down the hall so this worked perfectly. I grabbed them and I decided before I ran, I would at least warn Mayuri since he looked the most miserable here. I opened his cell and nudged him softly in the arm to get him up. "We have to go quickly before they notice we leave. I don't think we have enough time to get the others." I said. They would be switching watch post soon and then we'd be caught.

My eyes widened when he grabbed my hand. I didn't even get the chance to "explain". I watched as he left and felt really bad now, but why doesn't he want me to see his face? It can't be that bad can it? I saw now that there was nothing I could do about it now and just went back to bed. Still, I felt so terrible about it it was hard for me to sleep at all. Soon enough just because I was so tired I finally fell asleep for the night.

Grunting from being shooken awake, Mayuri looked to see it was Lanna. How on earth did she get out? He looked at the time and saw that they would be switching shifts soon. "Get back in your cell!" He sneered at her. He didn't like it here either, but he wasn't escaping just yet. Besides, she wouldn't know her way out anyways. This circus was hidden deep in the woods. What a naive girl she was and he thought she was different from all of the others. If she was caught she'd learn the hard way how he became the main attraction of the freak show.

Yylfordt was thinking to himself while he was walking alone in the forest. This girl must have some guts after all if she even tried taking his mask off while he was sleeping. He was glad he didn't have to kill her now at least since she didn't manage to get his mask off. He was just starting to get to know her, it would be a shame if he had to kill her so soon just like the others who tried the same attempt as her. He returned later on but now she was asleep which was good at least. He got comfortable in his corner again and this time tried to go back to bed.

I stepped back when he yelled at me but now that he yelled the guard was starting to slowly wake up. I ran really fast into my cell and closed it but I still had the keys which I hid under my shirt so if they checked our beds they wouldn't find the keys. Unless they made us strip, then I'd be doomed. But otherwise even if the guard noticed his keys missing he wouldn't find any of us that had it. I got into bed quickly and pretended to be asleep when he started to walk down the hallway to switch with the other guy.
